We're talking about writers block today. And how you can beat it so it doesnt beat you.
A great place to start is to take note of what is causing blank page syndrome. Nice term, eh? - because it describes the problem perfectly. Or perhaps we should call it "blank screen syndrome" these days because you're probably tapping out your articles on a keyboard with a computer screen in front of you.
1) AVOID PERFECTIONISM
With this mindset, you only want to produce perfect stuff. It must be a masterpiece of literature or you won't release it.
That first sentence must be just right. So you reject all those half-dribbled opening lines while you wait for perfection to descend upon your keyboard. Sorry, it probably won't happen.
Write twaddle if you have to - but start writing.
If you cant write twaddle, bang out some codswallop.
2) AVOID EDITING WHEN YOU SHOULD BE COMPOSING
Experts in brainstorming tell us to just keep up the flow of ideas. Let 'em flow. Do nothing to stop them.
Don't evaluate a thing.
Don't correct anything.
Don't stifle anything.
Just let the creativity flow out of you onto the screen.
For now it doesn't matter a whit if it's A-grade garbage.
Let it flow.
Certainly don't reject any idea. Just keep the ideas flowing like a gusher.
The critiquing and editing process comes later, after the brainstorming session has been completed. That's how brainstorming sessions are supposed to work. All the crazy off the wall ideas are captured and written down.
Do the same with your writing.
Write twaddle if you need to - but start writing. Dont do any editing for now - leave that till later on.
3) HOW TO GET STARTED WHEN YOU CANNOT GET STARTED
Why is it that the first sentence always seems the hardest? To folks with writer's block, it certainly does.
Write inane drivel for your first sentence if you need to. You can always delete it later.
ONE SOLUTION that works for me (when I use it!) is to think of the writing task like replying to an email. Emails are so temporary - they are not works of art. They are designed to quickly get a bit of info to somebody. They're not submissions to the Literary Prize Department.
Here's how the "pretend it's an email" trick works. I imagine my buddy has written asking me a question and I want to dash off a quick answer. Something like
"Hi John. Got your email, thanks. In my experience, the best way to get rid of those pesky aphids from your rose bushes is..."
And you're away.
No drama.
No performance pressure.
No thought that you are writing the next Great Aussie Novel.
It's just a quick email.
And the main thing is... you've started writing. Come back to it later with your Editor's hat on and do the needed editing - and you're ready to publish.
ANOTHER SOLUTION that also works for me is to just start out by saying I dont know what to say. Something like...
"i dont know what to say so i am just typing rubbish here. my article is supposed to be about how to pick a family friendly puppy but i havent a clue about what to say first of all. i wonder what sort of things parents would be thinking about as they head off to the pet shop..."
Okay. If you just delete the first useless sentence and tidy the rest up a little bit, this would be okay. It might turn out something like this...
"This article is about how to pick a family friendly puppy. What sort of things should parents be thinking about as they head off to the pet shop?"
And then you're into it. Start answering the question and you're in business. Pretty soon your article has written itself.

Readers Question:
What should I do if my car is stolen, if I have full coverage and live in Kansas City, Missouri and the stolen car that still has a balance of $18,000 can not be recovered what will happen?
Andrea
Kansas City,MO
If your vehicle has been stolen, you should immediately contact the police and file a stolen vehicle report. Most car insurance companies cannot process a claim for an automobile theft unless you first file a police report. After contacting the law enforcement police, you should report the theft to your car insurance company. Even if you do not have comprehensive coverage, you should still notify your insurance company of any stolen vehicles immediately. Reporting could help protect you if the thief causes damage to others with your car. If the stolen car is financed or leased, report the theft to your finance or leasing company. To speed up the process of your claims, inform your finance or leasing company to discuss the case directly with your car insurance company.
When you say full coverage on your car this usually includes collision and comprehensive. You should then make an insurance claim with your insurance provider under the comprehensive coverage. Your car insurance company will investigate the claim and determine what you are due if the car is not recovered. Kansas City, Missouri might have state laws about how long the insurance company can take to settle a stolen vehicle claim. Insurance companies will deal with the claim according to their own set of guidelines. It might be to find a vehicle similar to yours (same condition and trim) to replace yours or settle for the actual cash value (ACV). If the actual cash value (ACV) of your car is more than $18,000, then you should be able to pay off the balance. If not, then you will likely have to pay the remainder of the loan balance yourself.

PIP - MI 07/03/2008: Pay: Depending on your position, your ethnicity and who you're sleeping with, the pay could be great. But if you don't "get down" like that, the pay is probably not competitive.
Respect: Please, only managers get respect...they respect each other and that's about it.
Benefits: They were pretty decent when I was there.
Job Security: Turnover is so bad, that job security isn't a major problem in PIP. Don't get me wrong, they'd like to fire the bad Reps, but since the good Reps are able to find other jobs, they have no choice but to keep the bad ones around.
Work/Life Balance: This really wasn't an issue for me because I didn't allow it to become an issue. I put in my 40hrs, nothing more, nothing less. However, there are many employees, not just in PIP, that feel the need to work extra hours during the week and come in over the weekend, just to stay somewhat afloat. No one in PIP is ever caught up, it's just impossible. The processes change on a daily basis, the PIP managers are only concerned with "numbers", and the morale is just ridiculous! Giving employees free food doesn't make them happy, actually taking the time to listen to their concerns might help though. In addition, CP's and Medical Coders are people too, if only management could realize that. They are treated like trash and always being dumped on, too bad that will never change. There has never been respect for administrative people at Progressive, heck, the Admin TL's hardly get respect from the regular TL's!
Career Potential/Growth: Again, depending on your ethnicity and who you're sleeping with, the sky is the limit. I started off at the bottom and worked my way up the ladder the "right way", but my managers were terrible and I couldn't take it anymore. The managers were/are unethical, they would lie to employees and dangle "carrots" to get employees to do things, knowing they weren't going to get promoted or even a fairly decent raise.
Location: No complaint
Co-worker Competence: Every company has some bad employees, unfortunately, Progressive's turnover is so bad, they have to retain the bad employees. As for management competence, that's a joke! I hear they're competent in the bedroom though, LOL!
Work Environment: Let's see, IT SUCKS! Managers sleep with managers and don't even try to hide it. Managers only care about themselves and about harassing employees with "numbers". If you're an employee that has the "in", you're hated by other employees because chances are, that person is not always taking claims or they don't receive as many claims.
Overall, I am extremely glad I left, my life has been so much better since. I never openly complained while I was there, in fact, I always walked around with a smile and my manager was totally shocked when I gave my resignation. I have always had great reviews in every single position that I held there, I knew how to play the game and I played it well! I used them for all I could and now I'm making more money than Progressive TL's, taking less claims, and working for a company where work environment and morale aren't issues!
Every company has it's faults, but I'd rather work at McDonald's before ever considering coming back to Progressive. However, I would like to thank them for one thing; their demands and expectations were so ridiculous that I've excelled at being a Rep with my new company, even exceeding expectations! My manager is shocked at my "numbers" every month, I closed 48 claims last month with no re-opens! Progressive, in case you haven't noticed, you lost a good employee! Not everyone that leaves are bad seeds, some people are just fed up with bad managers with bad management styles. Please, someone tell them to stop micro-managing in PIP, you're driving your employees away! If you show your employees some respect and just a little bit of trust, that might go a long way!
To anyone looking to leave, if you can somewhat succeed at Progressive, you'll be awesome at another company. Hang in there and keep sending your resume out.

Cash advance loans are simpler than personal bank loans. When strapped financially, banks are not enthusiastic to loan money. Prior to approving a loan, banks will determine creditworthiness, and require adequate collateral. Moreover, the process takes a few days. With a personal loan from a payday lender, the loan approval process is quick and hassle-free.
Compare Cash Advance Lenders before Applying
Cash advance lenders have different terms and fees. Fortunately, there is a lender for everyone. Before selecting a payday loan company, use the internet to compare and contrast lenders. A website suggesting cash advance companies will list several lenders side-by-side. This provides the opportunity to make a brief comparison.
Browse the list for information pertaining to loan fees, loan terms, minimum monthly salary, maximum loan amount, etc. After comparing companies, submit an online applicant to the most fitting lender.
Meet Minimum Payday Loan Requirements
The payday loan process will proceed smoothly if applicants meet all loan requirements. Cash advance personal loans are intended to help people during a financial crisis. Still, applicants have to meet specific requirements. For instance, you must be working. Furthermore, applicants must be at least 18-years-old. Each lender establishes a minimum monthly salary. Finally, all applicants must have a verifiable checking or savings account.
Satisfy Cash Advance Terms of Agreement
Once you acquire funds, you have approximately two weeks to repay the money. In some instances, you can arrange a long-term or 30-day loan. To prevent late fees, pay back the money promptly. If at all possible, repay the funds before the due date. Hence, you create a good record with the payday lender. Failure to repay a cash advance will make it impossible to get future loans. Moreover, the balance will continue to balloon, creating further hardship.
Complete Loan Application and Provide Documents
If you need quick cash, it is important to fully complete your loan application before submitting. If information is missing from the application, it will delay the process. Furthermore, some cash advance lenders will request fax copies of your paycheck stubs, banking information, and so forth. These documents are needed to complete the loan approval process.
